Some of the areas for which we provide interpreters include hospitals, courtrooms, classrooms, business meetings, conferences, government and state agencies, musical and theatrical performances, and more.
VIDEO REMOTE INTERPRETING (VRI)
Our newest service is VRI, which can conveniently be used to access an interpreter immediately via video conferencing equipment.
American Sign Language / English Interpreting Services
All of our interpreters are certified and qualified, and have undergone specialized training to possess the skills, terminology, and knowledge required for the specific interpreting assignment.
The interpreter is there to benefit both the hearing consumer as well as the deaf consumer. Interpreters work using American Sign Language (a gestural language) or English transliteration (interpreting speech literally using grammatical word order).
Foreign Language Interpretation
We also provide interpreters for a variety of foreign languages, including court-certified foreign language interpreters. Languages available include: Spanish, Korean, Cantonese, Bosnian, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Arabic, to name a few. If you require a language other than one listed, call us and we will be glad to accommodate you.
Computer Aided Real Time Captioning (CART)
CART is available for those who are hearing-impaired but do not use sign language. This process is similar to court-reporting. The CART provider uses a steno machine, notebook computer, and realtime software to transcribe speech word-for-word without abbreviations or summarization. The text can be displayed on a computer monitor for one person, or on a large screen for a group.
Tactile Interpreting
Tactile interpreting is a method of interpreting for individuals who are both visually impaired and hearing impaired. The interpreter places his hands on the client’s hands and signs
